The Shift

A cardinal principle of Total Quality escapes too many managers: you cannot continuously improve interdependent systems and processes until you progressively perfect interdependent, interpersonal relationships. --Stephen Covey

Research suggests that well-placed, well-trained employees are as much as 400% more effective in their jobs. They function better, both individually and in teams, and can add significantly to a healthy bottom line.

Transform your company from ordinary to outstanding by learning specific ways to improve business relationships and develop important interpersonal skills. Our program offers the combination of a very powerful assessment tool, an interactive workshop tailored to meet your company’s needs, and then a 12 week follow thru program of online individual and team coaching combined with teleclasses designed to go to a deeper level of learning and implementing what was initiated in the workshop.

  • CORE MAP
  • CORE CONNECTIONS WORKSHOP
  • COACHING the TEAM  - Teleclasses and Online Coaching

The CORE CONNECTION WORKSHOP
CORE Connections Workshop, in combination with CORE MAP, provides a learning experience that delivers substantial improvements and measurable results. Leaders and co-workers learn how to:

  • Understand and relate to others-begin creating the relationship
  • Read others instantly and accurately
  • Connect and correctly communicate with different types of personalities
  • Reduce conflict and improve outcomes
  • Recognize the true needs of others in order for them to function optimally
  • Work together and support each other through change

Create the Relationship by learning how to understand each team member; how to identify their wants, needs, and what they bring to the team. They learn how to pull the team together, create cohesiveness, build trust, respect and credibility within the team, empower others, and communicate.

In business, in life, and in relationships of all kinds, communicating well is vital to success. . . and we all know from experience that just being able to talk is not communicating.

The ability to read people non-verbally is the next best thing to being a mind reader. Research suggests that non-verbals account for 93% of our communications with only 7% being actual words.

Different personality types communicate differently; speak, hear and perceive differently; and focus on different things; so the potential for miscommunication is very high.

Overcome the communication handicap by first discovering your own communication style and then learning to recognize and effectively communicate with styles that are different from your own. With increased awareness and powerful communication skills, you will improve every interaction, every time.

The CORE Connections workshop also provides the tools that managers and team members need to reduce conflict and ensure overall success for the team.

Participants learn what they must do to manage moods and resolve differences in order to build and maintain team spirit and mutual cooperation. They learn ways to communicate and cooperate, even with those they perceive as "difficult".

If a company is to remain healthy and profitable, every employee must function at optimum levels, both individually and within teams.

My research debunks the myth that many people seem to have…that you become a leader by fighting your way to the top. Rather, you become a leader by helping others to the top. Helping your employees is as important, and many times more so, that trying to get the most work out of them.”

William Cohen, The Stuff of Heroes: The Eight Universal Laws of Leadership

For Those in Leadership Roles:

To ensure peak performance, leaders must be able to connect and form a relationship with each of their employees individually, as well as provide cohesiveness within the team.

Discovering, developing and defining leadership is a vital part of any management or executive role and a key component to maximizing the bottom line of any company.

True leadership requires a deep personal sense of self awareness, leaders must “know” who they are which in turn creates the desire to know, build relationships with and effectively lead others.

We bring a fresh, new and somewhat “out of the box” approach to leadership. We don’t tell people how to be leaders, instead, we guide them in finding their own leader within themselves then integrate it into their work and life for maximum effectiveness.

Our approach honors the individual’s natural talents and skills, their strengths and their weaknesses, along with their values and goals. We then work to discover and define their own leadership style and develop it to serve them and their company well.

It is the responsibility of true leaders to generate and maintain a healthy work environment thru creating and fostering relationships, facilitating the personal and professional development of each team member, and communicating clearly the overall vision and purpose with the employee’s significance in it.

Our program can maximize the effectiveness of:

  • Management & Leadership
  • Employee/Leadership Relations
  • Team Connecting
  • Verbal & Nonverbal Communications
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Motivators versus de-motivators
  • Change Management

Coaching the Team:

Our follow-thru program gives companies a way in which to continue the learning and take the workshop experience to a much deeper level by offering four team teleclasses combined with twelve weeks of interactive online coaching and journaling.

This approach allows the team to attend four teleclasses with each one highlighting a major point in the workshop. Then, they will use the online coaching and journaling to complete a topic lesson each week as a team with feedback given by the coach and from within the team allowing them develop and build their communication and relationship skills with one another.

The importance and value of journaling during the coaching process:
    1. Journaling provides a healthy forum to vent thoughts and feelings.
    2. Journaling is a tool that allows an objective look at thoughts and trains us to be consciously aware of our thoughts (the first critical step in raising our Emotional Intelligence and becoming more productive).
    3. Journaling is a place to create – when we put our vision and goals on     paper, they take root and bring more focus, attention and energy to them for accelerated results.

One study found that productivity increased
 by 88 percent
 when managers received personal coaching
 after they completed
 a workshop,
and that
follow-up coaching could “facilitate the transfer of learning, especially if the coaching fosters the development and use of knowledge imparted during training”

(Oliver et al., 1997, p.1)

Challenges in Delivery Methods

Showers, 1987

Element of Training Skill Acquisition Transfer to Work Place
Presentation 10-20 % 5-10%
Demonstration 35% 5-10%
Practice 70% 5-10%
Feedback  (with practice) 80% 5-10%
Coaching  (after training) 90% 90%

People make their best contributions in a healthy, team-oriented environment,
when they are functioning in roles for which they are naturally gifted,
where they can grow and develop who they are,
and when they are involved in activities that have clear meaning and purpose to them.
